What type of security does the property have?
Your safety is our top priority! Chenango Place features key fob access at all entrances and a video camera system keeping an eye on select areas of the building. While we’ve got security measures in place, we always encourage our residents to stay aware and practice smart safety habits
What is the area surrounding Chenango Place like?
Picture this: stunning waterfront views of the Chenango River, a prime downtown location, and endless options for food, shopping, and entertainment! Whether you're craving local eats, a night out, or a quick trip to campus, you're in the perfect spot to experience the best of Binghamton.
Can I pick my own apartment and/or roommates?
Absolutely! Choose your own apartment, and if you need roommates, we’ve got you covered. We can match you up based on availability, or you can bring your own crew—up to 6 people!
How long of a lease can I sign?
We offer flexible leasing options, including our standard 12-month lease. Occasionally, we have single-semester leases available—reach out to see what’s open!
Can I set up recurring payments?
Yes! Set it and forget it by enrolling in automatic payments through our resident portal. No stress, no late fees—just smooth sailing.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, a $500 security deposit is required 10 days after signing your lease.
Is renters insurance required? Do you provide renters insurance?
Yes, renters insurance is required—but we don’t provide it. Be sure to secure a policy to keep your belongings protected. You can connect with our office team for guidance on where to start.
What if I have to break my lease and go home for the summer?
If you need to leave early, your best bet is to find a subletter to take over your lease. Otherwise, you'll still be responsible for your lease terms. Need help? Reach out, and we’ll guide you through the subletting process.
What is a guarantor? Is a guarantor required?
A guarantor (usually a parent or guardian) is someone with established credit who agrees to back your lease. Yes, we do require one to sign with you.

When is rent due?
Rent is due on the 1st of every month, with a 5-day grace period. If payment isn’t received by the 6th, a late fee will apply—so don’t forget!
How can I pay rent?
Multiple easy options:
- Online: Use our Resident Web Access portal (via our website) to pay by e-check or credit card (fees may apply).
- By Check: Mail it in or drop it off at the management office—no extra fees for check payments!

What utilities are included?
Your rent covers water, sewer, electricity, heat, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and cable—so no surprise bills!
How does laundry work?
Each apartment has its own washer and dryer (yay, no laundry room trips!). Plus, there’s a free laundry facility on the third floor for all residents.
What size are the beds?
All beds are Full XL, but if you prefer Queen-size sheets, they’ll fit just fine.
What color are the walls in the apartment?
Most walls are classic white, but we add a stylish touch with one gray accent wall in the living room for that modern vibe.
What type of flooring does the apartment have?
You’ll find laminate wood flooring in the kitchen and living area, while bedrooms are carpeted for extra coziness.
Can we hang pictures, etc. on the walls?
Yes! Just make sure to check your lease rules before you start decorating
What kind of educational facilities are there?
We’ve got study spaces for days! Every floor features three closed study rooms with additional desks on some floors. Plus, our computer lounge offers both Macs and PCs and free printing—perfect for last-minute assignments.
How do I access the Cinema Room?
Movie night anytime! The Cinema Room is open 24/7 and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Just use your key fob to get in.

We are located directly adjacent to the brand-new Water Street parking garage which offers monthly parking at a competitive rate. We are also close to several other garages and parking lots that offer similar services.
